An American Quaker sampler with sweet pairs of birds throughout surrounded by a tulip border. The sampler was reproduced from an antique in the Whitman Collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Possibly stitched in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, both having strong Quaker communities. Stitch count 261 x 210. Stitches used are mainly cross over two, cross over one for the attribution, and a bit of counted satin. Charted for NPI with a DMC conversion. The model was stitched on Stephanie’s Milk Chocolate, but a recommended substitution is Weeks Straw.
